Parent Groups

The Solihull Approach train practitioners to be facilitators of 4 types of face to face groups.

  1. The Solihull Approach group for parents ‘Understanding your child’s behaviour’ is for any parent of children aged 6 months to 19 years. There are free Addendums available to customise the group for adoptive parents, parents of children with a learning difficulty, parents of children with disabilities and parents of children on the autistic spectrum. This group was given the top rating for value for money by the Early Intervention Foundation (EIF).
  2. The Solihull Approach Postnatal group ‘Understanding your baby’ is for any parent of a child aged 0 to 6 months.
  3. The Solihull Approach Postnatal Plus group is for any parent with relationship difficulties or postnatal depression.
  4. The Solihull Approach Antenatal group ‘Understanding pregnancy, labour, birth and your baby’ is for anyone expecting a baby and for anyone around the mother e.g. father, partner, grandparents, birth partner etc.

An RCT has been published on ‘Understanding your child’s behaviour’, with very positive results.
All the trainings are cascadable, supporting sustainability and coverage.
All the groups are also available in online form, supporting accessibility.
We also provide a Manual for delivering a course in schools on parenthood. 9 lessons of 45 minutes. £59 for manual to deliver in school.
